ICB Paper-Based and Online Exam: What’s the Difference?
Not all ICB students are close to the exam centre or have the technical requirements at home. So to ensure you get the best results, there are a few exam settings you can choose from. To pick the right option for you, make sure you know the difference between ICB paper-based and onlineexams.
ICB Paper-Based Exams
You have the option to write your exam at your college, or an exam centre approved by theICB. You’ll get your exam paper from the invigilator, who will supervise the exam. You can write your paper-based exam between 09:00 and 12:30.
Paper-based Exam Rules
When writing at the exam venue, there are strict rules you need to follow.
- Make sure you get to the exam centre early. If you arrive there after 09:30, you will not be allowed to write.
- You can only enter the exam with an official ID card, temporary or green-barcoded ID book or passport.
ICB Online Exams
Students who choose the online exam option have the freedom to choose where they would like to write. Whether it’s at home or a location that follows the technical requirements. These exams are written in the afternoon between 13:00 – 16:00.
Technical Requirements
To avoid any issues during the exam, make sure that you follow all the technical requirements.
- Complete a technical systems check before you write
- Use a stable internet connection
- You should use Google Chrome
- If you log in ahead of time, refresh your browser at 13:00
Technical Support
我们与你在漫漫长路的每一步。所以是the ICB technical support team. During the exam, they will be on-standby to help you with any technical issue you may experience. There is also a chat hotline available to you. Or you can pop them an email.
Similarities Between Paper-based and Online Exam
Along with the differences between paper-based and online exams, there are also similarities. The most important similarity being the submission of yourPortfolio of Evidence (PoE). You need to submit your PoE one week before the exam. Without your PoE, you will not be able to write either exam. Listed below are other similarities. Both:
- The paper-based and online exam are three and half hours long
- Exams are invigilated
- Follow the same style of the questions – quiz and extended writing
- Exam dates can be found on thetimetable
Skills Academy is the word support in every way.
