Loadshedding and Your ICB Online Exam
One of the cons of online exams include the possibility of loadshedding. Exam season is scary and stressful enough without having to worry about sudden power cuts. But theICBhas got you covered. Here’s what to do with regard toloadsheddingand your ICB online exam.
Before the Exam
Unfortunately, loadshedding is a large part of South African life and we have to do everything we can to stay prepared. Online exams take place from 13:00 and 16:30. So if loadshedding in your area is scheduled during that time, perhaps you should make arrangements to write elsewhere. However, you should make sure that the computer meets thetechnical requirements.
During the Exam
So what happens in the unfortunate event of loadshedding, power failures, or internet interruptions?
- You should try your best to access your exams during the exam time frame.
- Contact the ICB support desk ASAP so they can log your issue during the exam and help you.
- Depending on your circumstances, the invigilator might give you extra time.
- If you can’t log in because of electricity issues, you can request a postponement. BUT, you must show that you at least attempted to write the exam and asked the ICB for help.
- Only exam interruptions that were out of your control will be reviewed by the Academic Board (check out section 13 of theAssessment Policy).
